Project Report

The first day of Year of Projects I immediately picked up both pairs of gloves and got started. Little Sisters I can work on only when I am awake and uninterrupted. It is very laborious, but I manged to get almost all the way through with the first section (there are five sections, plus the thumb). I manage to get a few rows done each day and revel in the glory of another inch completed.

I do have one very exciting thing to announce, I finished my gloves! I even wore them during fireworks on Saturday. I stayed up until one in the morning on Friday-Saturday to finish them. I just needed to complete something.

I feel the itch to cast on for something more brainless, but I'm not sure what. I almost think I want to make a shawl instead of a cowl, but I don't know. I ought to finish the poor teddy bear sitting in a pile, and that is what I probably will end up doing.

  1. I like to balance mindless knitting with attention-intensive knitting. Most days one is more my style than the other. Great work on those LIttle Sisters Gloves. I'd only be able to manage that with really good light!

  2. Love your gloves and well done on the finish. Little Sisters gloves are looking great, little by little they'll grow and its amazing what a bit each day does. When I've a pattern that needs more attention than others I to tend to switch to something more basic just to let the brain relax.

  3. Your fingerless something look gorgeous! And I agree having two projects, one brainless and one complexe. I am used to do some charity square when I want to do something mindless. Really useful, mindless and use all the piece of 8ply left over.

  5. It does feel good to get something done! And mindless projects certainly have their place. Little Sisters are terrific and the concentration is evident. I'm a fan of shawls and cowls - can't wait to see what you choose.

  8. Yay to finishing your gloves! Mindless knitting is definitely great for the summer when it is usually too hot for me to think :).
